The care instructions on our garments’ labels will give you advice on how to best care for your garment, making sure that they remain long-loved favourites for years to come.
Comfortable and versatile, we use cotton in countless ways to create different textures and tactile finishes. Whether it’s soft and stretchy cotton jersey, sheer and fine woven cotton, or crisp and papery cotton poplin, we think that cotton is the perfect foundation for any wardrobe. Easy to care for, cotton is fully machine washable and if worn and treated with care, will last for a long time.
We use a wide variety of wool to make our garments, from soft merino and lambswool to fuzzy mohair. Wools don’t need washing as often as other fibres might, they will last a lot longer between washes if you spot clean them where needed and simply air them out.
When you do wash them, remember that wool fibres can be prone to pilling and felting, so we suggest that you avoid high temperatures and friction. Setting your washing machine to a cold wash and only using mild detergents will help.
When drying, we suggest that you lay your woollens flat on a towel to absorb any extra moisture, whilst gently reshaping them (knits can be heavy when wet and that extra weight will pull them out of shape if you dry them over a rail or hanging up). Remember, no knitted things will enjoy a trip round the tumble dryer, so always air dry if possible.
A great example of classic craftsmanship, hand-knitting ensures that many of our jumpers, scarves and other items have a unique character and charm. As they can be delicate, we suggest that you take extra care with them, preferably washing by hand or on a wool cycle in the washing machine, using a mild detergent.
